Dr. Panahpour has made headlines with the world's first free dental screening for breast cancer patients during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2017.
"This type of screening will become more common as biological systemic dentists become an integral part of every cancer patient’s medical care team,” said Dr. Alireza Panahpour.
"In light of a new study finding that women with gum disease are 14% more likely to develop breast cancer, consider this one of our contributions to the fight against the disease," said Dr. Panahpour. "We share this for those who fight against breast cancer's return, and for those who fight against it coming into their life, by making themselves as healthy as possible."
This is the second time in 2 weeks that Dr. Panahpour has made the news; earlier this month he was interviewed on NBC King5's Amity Addrisi (@AmityAddrisiK5) and Jake Wittenberg (@jwhittenbergK5) about the breast cancer / root canal connection. Dr. Panahpour is informing the public about research that is opening our eyes to the scientifically proven link between gum disease and breast cancer.
